- Please note : You need to book ahead for this package. (05 65 37 38 82). If you wish to arrive at Argentat the day before your canoe trip starts, you may sleep at the Echo du Malpas campsite, 30 meters only from the canoe base.
- If you wish to arrive by train, we can go and get you at the train station and bring you back there when the circuit is over (on demand).
Example for a 5 days family trip
Day 1 : from Argentat to Brivezac (19 kms)
Following in the way of the boatmen of yore, the “gabariers”, you will descent through lush valley and you will
enjoy the cooling nature, refreshing springs and brooks, typical of the Corrèze countryside.
Your way will be ”sprinkled” with little castles, traditional villages and fun streams.
Day 2 : from Argentat to Puybrun (19 kms)
Morning : Enjoy and laugh in the gentle “rapids” you find on your way...
A stop at Beaulieu is recommended (half-way) :
- there are plenty of shops for stocking-up easily
- and above all, you must visit this nice little town (its church by the riverside, its abbatial), have a walk through its medieval streets, and even see old“gabares”!
Afternoon : Going down with the river stream, you will notice the scenery changings. In fact you'll leave the Corrèze and come in the Lot departement, down to Puybrun.
Day 3 : from Puybrun to Copeyre (18 kms)
You way will be stake out with traditionnal villages, build with ochre stones. You will paddle along cultivated lands
(corn, walnut trees, tobacco) and pastures.
Stop recommended at Carennac (half-way)
- there are plenty of shops for stocking-up easily
- and, of course, you must visit also this wonderful tiny medieval village (Prieuré, castle and quays).
Afternoon :Down to Copeyre, the scenery will change again, and you will see, ahead of you, the superb limestone cliffs towering above. The river gets larger and many little islands may appear (depends of the water level). Stop off at Copeyre base, a quiet campsite with a pleasant beach ; you may enjoy swimming at the foot of a natural cave.
Day 4 : from Copeyre to Pinsac (19 Kms)
During this day, you'll pass through the most preserved part of the Dordogne valley. Gorges, cliffs, canyons...
beautiful sceneries and even little castles and a cave which you can go in by canoe (think about the flashlight!).
At Pinsac, you will stop face to the very beautiful Chateau de la Treyne.
Day 5 : from Pinsac to Souillac (10 kms)
You may observe many rare species of birds going down the last few kilometers along the Dordogne river.
On the afternoom, you will end your adventure at Souillac, getting off 30 metres only from the waterpark Quercyland.
You can enjoy (for free) the fun of swimming pools, slides, rest at the restaurant or the pizza parlour, while you are waiting for the 5.45 pm bus.
